We will focus on accounting for a business setting: AP/AR, monthly reconciliation, record keeping for tax purposes, and other general small business bookkeeping requirements. Prior experience with QuickBooks is not required but helpful.

Beginner Drone Flying

This 15-hour course is designed for anyone using or looking to use drones. We cover the operation of various models, hands-on flight practice, uses and applications across industries, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, operational risks, insurance, career opportunities and much more. If you are currently working, or considering a career in, real estate, construction, transportation, agriculture, insurance, public safety, photography, media, inspection, etc. or want to start a business, you’ll learn how your industry can be transformed in new, cost-effective ways. We will discuss how the citizens of Maine are using these unmanned aircraft in their businesses and how best you can employ drones in your business or start a new one. Prerequisites: Must have a minimum of 8th grade English reading and writing level, and comfortable using a computer and internet browser. NOTE: Class times include a working lunch. Please come prepared with a bagged lunch, snacks and drinks. Microwave and fridge are available for use.

Job Coach Credential

Calendar May 8, 2020 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

This new job coach credential will provide the training you need to help others improve their educational and employment outcomes. Job coaches are responsible for on-site assistance to individuals with disabilities to observe, train, identify their skills, abilities, and barriers to employment. Coaches also act as a liaison between the employer and their employment specialist to enable the individual to maintain employment. Earning the job coach credential consists of two parts: an 18 module training online from the College of Employment Services and a day long face-to-face workshop in Fading Supports in the Workplace. The online modules are on-demand and can be taken at any time once you apply for the credential program via WRAE. The face-to-face workshops take place a few times a year. You can register for one of the Fading Support workshops at: Keep in mind you must complete all 18 modules before attending the face-to-face training. Both portions of the training must be completed within six months of registering. Individuals must first sign up for the course through WRAE then we will send you the link to pay for the training registration. The online registration fee for this program is $200 plus a $20 fee for the face-to-face workshop. Both payments must be made prior to starting the online training.
