CONSTRUCTION CRAFT SKILLS TRAINING

FAST TRACK TO YOUR NEW CAREER IN THE BUILDING TRADES!

This intensive 231 hour, 2 semester course, with hands-on training is designed to give students a solid foundation for any trade industry that she or he chooses to pursue.  Modules such as Basic Jobsite Safety, Power Tools, Communication Skills, Introduction to Construction Drawings, and Framing teach real-world marketable skills that are essential in today’s growing construction fields and sought after by employers. Each module exam passed earns the student their NCCER Certification for that level. Students will also receive their Osha 10 card and will be credentialed through WorkReady.

On-the-job training, after the first 141 hours of class time, may be included. Students can start earning and learning in the field, putting their training to practical use within a few months. Are you already in the trades, but want to increase your skills and earning potential? Our convenient evening hours make this training fit your schedule!

Students must have a valid driver’s license, their high school diploma or equivalency, be at least 18 years old, and be eligible to work in the USA.  No classes 2/20, 2/22, 4/17, 4/19.

6 months - 100 hrs – open enrollment

In the program, you will learn how to read and utilize the numerous reference materials, classify commodities to determine duties, learn compliance and more. Upon passing the exam, you can then apply for your Customs Brokers License through U.S. Customs and Border Protection. If you are accepted and become a Licensed Customs Broker, you will play a pivotal role in the U.S. trade community.

The Customs Broker License Exam is given twice a year (April and October) and is a very difficult exam to pass. This program will prepare you to sit and pass the exam.

The Intermediate CompTIA A+ Certification Prep course picks up where the Basic course left off and plunges you head-first into Windows, MacOS, and Linux. You learn how to install, organize, maintain, and troubleshoot three different versions of Windows. You'll examine and compare the features and structures of Windows Vista, 7, and 8/8.1. I'll even throw in some Windows 10 because it's cool. Toward the end of the course you'll get a deeper understanding of how we use virtualization and virtual machines in modern networks. Plus, you'll learn about printers and multifunction devices, from the various technologies in use to installing and troubleshooting. This course takes you through the second of three steps you need to become both a highly-competent PC tech and a CompTIA A+ certified technician, using the 901 and 902 competencies. Fee: $159*

If you want to join one of these certificate programs, or have questions, please call Stacia Dugas at 892-1819 to make an appointment. All OSCP courses offered are open to any adult. You do not need to be enrolled in the OSCP program to take a course.
