200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification Program

An in-depth Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification program for those seeking to teach, or to deepen their journey.  The Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification is built around finding your voice first – as an inspired teacher or as an inspired yogi, encouraging you to step outside of the “box”.  Tuition includes 200 hours of classroom instruction covering these topics: Techniques, training and practice; teaching methodology; anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers; practicum, and instructional materials.

A note for students interested in pursuing certification through Yoga Alliance: 

In order to qualify for certification through Yoga Alliance, students are responsible for completion of additional coursework relevant to the area of interest in these subject areas:  techniques, training and practice, teaching methodologies, yoga self-exploration; and complete Family Crisis Volunteer Program (taught by Family Crisis Services). These components are not covered by tuition charged for this program.

Please note: The teacher of this program is not affiliated with Yoga Alliance; however, the coursework noted in this program and recommended as additional coursework exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements and may be applied as Continuing Education for yoga teachers wishing to register with Yoga Alliance.

Beginning Computers for Seniors

Welcome to the world of technology!  If you’re new to computers or have tried using them but are still not comfortable, then this is the course for you!  Try something new in a comfortable and relaxed environment.  We will work together to cover the basics of how computers work, how to use them, types of hardware and software, learning basic word processing, using e-mail, using the Internet and special topics of interest.  This class is for true beginners.  If you use a computer and are comfortable with the basics, think about enrolling in one of our other computer classes.  No Senior Discount will be given with this class.

Bio: 

Bill Keller has a B.S degree in Science/Secondary Education, a B.S in Computer Technology, and an MsEd in Secondary Education/Science. He has over 20 years of experience teaching at the high school and adult education levels in addition to many years teaching in the military. Bill has been teaching technology courses with Windham Raymond Adult Ed since 2008 and is a superb raised bed gardener.

Community Awareness Internet Safety

This class will be a 45-minute PowerPoint presentation for parents and guardians of children ages 5-17 includes; facts of online risks, statistics, videos, and other resources, tips for keeping children safer online. This is a program developed by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The program is endorsed by The Maine Attorney General’s Office.

Instructor Bio:

Officer Cyr is a 24-year veteran of law enforcement. He has served as a patrolman, field-training officer, is a certified instructor with the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and has spent the last 18 years of his career as the Community Services Officer. He is a certified CRASE (Citizen Response to Active Shooter Events) trainer, CPR/First Aid instructor and is currently working toward his Maine Guides License. Cyr is certified and trained in many different aspects of law enforcement.

The course cost includes all necessary practical components, and a certification from the American Heart Association. The workbook is not included in the fee. If you would like a workbook, please check the box on your online registration form. You pay the instructor for the book on the night of the class. Book fee: $10.
