Welcome to the world of technology! If you’re new to computers or have tried using them but are still not comfortable, then this is the course for you. We will work together to cover the basics of how computers work and how to use them in a comfortable and relaxed environment. We will learn basic word processing, how to use email, how to use the Internet and more. This class is for true beginners. If you use a computer and are comfortable with the basics, think about enrolling in one of our other computer classes.

Microsoft Excel Boot Camp - Section II

This accelerated course will teach you how to make your spreadsheets work for you. We will cover: formatting a worksheet, using formulas, managing your data, and many other essential functions of spreadsheets necessary for working in a business setting. We are here to help you become confident and proficient when using this powerful software. Excel Boot Camp is one of the trio of Microsoft Boot Camps being offered this semester! Take your office skills to the next level and get the training to make your resume stand out! Learn to combine the basic principles of accounting with the essential knowledge of QuickBooks functions with this must-have training for anyone working in or looking to work in a small office. We will focus on accounting for a business setting: AP/AR, monthly reconciliation, record keeping for tax purposes, and other general small business bookkeeping requirements. Prior experience with QuickBooks is not required but helpful.

CPR - Section I

Calendar Feb 24, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

CPR class includes: using adult, child and infant CPR and AED; handling adult, child and infant choking; and knowing when to call emergency services. The course cost includes use of the manikins, DVD, instructor and practical components, and a certificate of completion. This class is taught to the standards established by the American Heart Association.

Emergency Medical Technician Blended Learning Program

Calendar Feb 27, 2020 at 5 pm, runs for 17 weeks

This is a Maine State approved EMT course. This course combines weekly in-class instructor-led practical skills training with online coursework. All students will be required to provide immunization documentation prior to clinical. Successfully passing this course makes you eligible to sit for the NREMT exam - NREMT Practical Skills Exam testing fees are included in the price. NREMT written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included. Fee includes textbook, background check, online classroom testing platforms, clinical polo shirt.

Beginner Drone Flying

Calendar Mar 14, 2020 at 9 am, runs for 3 weeks

This 15-hour course is designed for anyone using or looking to use drones. We cover the operation of various models, hands-on flight practice, uses and applications across industries, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, operational risks, insurance, career opportunities and much more. If you are currently working, or considering a career in, real estate, construction, transportation, agriculture, insurance, public safety, photography, media, inspection, etc. or want to start a business, you’ll learn how your industry can be transformed in new, cost-effective ways. We will discuss how the citizens of Maine are using these unmanned aircraft in their businesses and how best you can employ drones in your business or start a new one. Prerequisites: Must have a minimum of 8th grade English reading and writing level, and comfortable using a computer and internet browser. NOTE: Class times include a working lunch. Please come prepared with a bagged lunch, snacks and drinks. Microwave and fridge are available for use.
