With the huge growth of the medical industry in recent years, the field of medical transcription has become a vital part of healthcare. In ed2go’s Medical Transcriptionist Online Training Program, you'll gain the ability to transcribe medical reports and learn the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position. Our medical transcription course is offered in partnership with major colleges, universities, and other accredited education providers. Plus, we provide transcription equipment and real-life case studies for practice.

Doctors make notes of every patient visit—notes that must be transcribed into medical reports for patient files. As there are nearly 1 billion visits per year according to the CDC, this is a very stable career path. The job description of a medical transcriptionist includes listening to and transcribing these doctors’ notes, creating medical reports that eventually become part of patients' permanent files. Medical transcription jobs exist in hospitals and physicians’ offices, but this career also lends itself to part-time hours and working from a home office.

If a flexible and stable career working as a medical transcriptionist sounds great, and you are looking for training near you, ed2go can help. Our online course is self-paced to fit into your busy schedule, and you’ll be paired with a facilitator for one-on-one interaction. You’ll transcribe case studies taken from hospital medical records covering a variety of medical transcription situations. At the end of this course, you’ll be fully prepared for an entry-level career in medical transcription.
