Mindful Yoga

Please join us for an evening of breathing and stretching in this Mindful Yoga class. This practice of yoga can help rewire or reshape our brain and improve the quality of our life experiences. In this gentle class, we move mindfully through a series of postures designed to increase flexibility and build strength while encouraging a connection between movement and breath. Please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat! No class 2/19, 2/21, 4/16, 4/18.

A recent transplant to Maine, Sonya Brockman received her YOGA ALLIANCE RYT-200 training in 2015 She has also trained in prenatal yoga, restorative yoga, children’s yoga, and most recently, Yoga for All Bodies. She has taught yoga in North Carolina, Colorado, and is happy to be teaching in her newly adopted home here in Maine. Her classes emphasize safe alignment and building strength, endurance, and flexibility.

Skin Care with Essential Oils - Section II

Skin Care with Essential Oils

In this one-time class, you will learn how to incorporate essential oils into your skin care regimen. You will learn which essential oils can substitute common ingredients found in popular skin care products, and we will discuss common skin conditions, such as acne, aging skin, sunburn, cuts and scrapes, etc., and which essential oils can help support those issues. There will be a hands-on portion where we will make a skin serum and a skin toner. Materials fee of $8 for the serum (2 max), $3 for the toner (2 max). Fee payable to instructor by cash, check or debit/credit card via Square.

Elissa Nauman is a Certified Essential Oil Coach through the AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners), and an overall health enthusiast, with special interest in alternative health. Elissa is excited to share her enthusiasm and knowledge of essential oils with anyone who is interested in learning about them.

Trip to Boston

All aboard the Downeaster for Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and the North End with Chris Toy. We will board the morning train from Portland and head to Boston on the Downeaster. Then we'll hop on the subway for the Museum of Fine Arts where you'll be free to wander the galleries before heading to the North End for your choice of dozens of restaurants offering awesome pizza, pasta, seafood, and pastries. If there is time, we will check out Haymarket and the Boston Market before heading back to the Downeaster and back to Maine! The trip includes transportation via

Amtrak and MBTA. Train departs from the Portland Station at 8:20 AM and returns from Boston at 7:20 PM.

Whole Body Yoga will move us beyond our breath and into a creative, flowing sequence each week. Sun Salutations will be incorporated throughout the class and provide us energy and strength. Sun Salutations are very powerful and touch each muscle in the body; that is why we call this class Whole Body Yoga for a full body experience. Please dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat! No class 2/19, 2/21, 4/16, 4/18.
