The Joy of Uke

Join Dana Reed (aka, Capt’n Uke) for his redesigned, streamlined and condensed 6-week format that allows greater one-on-one instruction. Students will be introduced to basic 2 and 3 chord songs encompassing Rock and Roll, Country, Swing, and the Blues that provide instant playing access to thousands of songs! These songs will also give students easily recognizable chord patterns and two basic strumming essentials used in countless songs. Capt’n Uke will also introduce singing with your uke in a fun and very non-threatening way. What’s “Folsom Prison Blues”, unless you give it your best Johnny Cash? Capt’n Uke he has developed a website ( where all of his video lessons reside and may be accessed by students 24/7. A good quality ukulele costs between $75 and $120. Chords Are Key to Piano

You don’t need years of weekly lessons to learn piano. In just a few hours, you can learn all the chords you will need to play any song in this one session. Any song! Any style! Any key! If you can find middle C and know the meaning of Every Good Boy Does Fine, you already know enough to enroll in this workshop. Topics include: how chords work in a song, how to get more out of sheet music by reading less of it, how to form the three main types of chords, how to handle different keys and time signatures, how to avoid “counting,” and how to simplify over 12,000 complex chords. Music 2 - Harmony

This class expands on the skills from the first class and explores aspects of harmony, melody, and interval training. Strong emphasis is placed on proper techniques of part writing with a goal of writing for two instruments in harmony. Class will work on interval recognition to help with being able to know what kind of harmony works for the music they want to create.

Ballroom Dance for Beginners

Are you the couple that is always uncomfortable to get up on the dance floor at weddings and other social functions? Are you the husband, wife, or partner that always says no when asked to take dance lessons? If so, this is the class for you. Jon Miele can teach anyone to dance, and ensure that they have fun along the way. By the end of this course you will know the basics in Waltz, Fox Trot, Swing, and Cha Cha, along with some other surprise fun dances. Don’t be afraid to take this important step; it is a guarantee that your life will be enriched from this fun experience.

This class is a culmination of skills learned in the previous classes and will have you composing music from the get go! This class will explore harmony even further and go into chord structure and chord progressions that are found in the most popular musics from Mozart to today! Classes will focus on proper melodic writing for chords learned, best practices for basic 4-part chorale writing, and creation of original pieces!

Tasty Tunes & Funky Food With Monte Selby and Chris Toy

Are you looking for an amazing culinary experience to share with family or friends? Our next Tasty Tunes & Funky Foods event is an exclusive Spring getaway at the historic Old River House in scenic Kennebunkport, Maine.

The event begins with a hands-on cooking lesson with Stonewall and LeRoux Kitchen's cooking instructor Chris Toy. The freshly made four course dinner and dessert is followed by a private concert with Grammy Award winning songwriter Monte Selby. Chris and Monte will customize the dinner and concert specifically for the evening's guests, promising an unforgettable and unique getaway.

The cost is $245 per person Single Occupancy/$195 per person **Double Occupancy includes the group cooking lesson, dinner for 12 guests, live music, overnight accommodations, plus a breakfast tutorial and meal the following morning. New friends and great conversations at no extra charge! Feel free to provide your own adult beverages and please note dietary restrictions when registering.

**Most of the rooms in this historic house have one “double” size bed. All rooms require use of stairs.
