Arm Knitting

Who doesn’t love cuddling under a big squishy throw blanket on a cold winter night? Learn how to make your very own oversized garter stitch throw or scarf – no knitting experience required. In this beginner friendly class, you will learn every step of construction, from cast on to bind off. Since you’ll be using your arms instead of knitting needles, all you need is yarn to get started . You’ll learn to cast on and bind off; arm knit with the basics and purling; put your stitches on hold; join in new balls of yarn; weave in your ends. Please ask for material list with local vendor discount upon registration.

Buying A Fixer Upper!

Are you looking for a home to fix up and live in, or for an investment property? This class will help the novice investor navigate the numerous issues that come with buying a distressed property. Industry experts will be on hand to provide information on: foreclosures/short sales/distressed properties, financing- including rehab loans, inspections, and more. Build equity and avoid the pitfalls with the knowledge you will obtain in this class. Following a short class we will board a bus to view and walk through a variety of fixer uppers. This bus tour is unique, fun and educational. You will be joined by a real estate specialist, a mortgage specialist, an inspector and a contractor. The focus is to educate participants on the realities of purchasing Foreclosures, Short Sales and Distressed Properties.

Chinese Cooking Secrets

Please join us for this popular introductory class: Secrets of Chinese Cooking. You will learn about basic Chinese cooking tools, ingredients, and techniques which you can adapt for everyday cooking. Bring your appetites as a delicious dinner of handmade wonton soup, wok baked whole chicken, garlic and ginger stir-fry seafood with vegetables, and perfect steamed jasmine rice will be served.

Chris Toy is a Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School instructor and has been teaching Asian cooking in Southern and Midcoast Maine for 30 years. A retired teacher and principal, he learned to cook in his parents’ kitchen. Chris’ classes integrate his love of teaching and great food, creating an engaging mix of techniques, aromas and tastes, highlighting the fusion of Far East foods with local Northeast offerings.

to call emergency services. The course cost includes all necessary practical components, and a certification from

the American Heart Association. The workbook is not included in the fee. If you would like a workbook, please

check the box on your online registration form. You pay the instructor for the book on the night of the class. Book

fee: $10.

Essential Oils and Pets

Did you know that you can use essential oils on your pets? These gifts from nature offer a safe, gentle, and natural way to treat a variety of health issues, and can even be used along with medications in order to help possible side effects. In this class, you will learn which oils are recommended for your furry friend, and which ones you should avoid, and what you can use them for. We will also explore how to apply them to your pet, and safety precautions to take while treating them. Please note that this class will mostly pertain to dogs since cats are more sensitive to the potency and scent of essential oils, however, we will review which oils are safe and toxic to cats.
