Citizenship and ELL Civics Education - Section II

Improve English speaking, reading and writing skills with a civics focus while preparing for the Naturalization

Els Bennett has worked as an Education Technician for RSU 14. She works for WRAE as a math tutor for HiSET program as well as teaching in the literacy and ESOL programs.

ESOL Evening

This program assists students in reading, writing, speaking and listening in English. Instruction is designed to meet learners’ needs and can include preparation for the citizenship test upon request. Rolling admission. Students must meet with ABE Coordinator Catherine Renaud for registration and testing. Call 892-1819 to set up an appointment. No class 2/18, 2/20, 4/15, 4/17.

Shelly Cook has been teaching Middle School in Windham for 18 years and began teaching ESOL for Windham Raymond Adult Education in 2016.

Preschool Playgroup Section II

Preschool Playgroup II

Let’s play! Join us as we read, sing, and play together with your preschool children. Learn activities which will help prepare your child for school success. Social skills play an important part in preparing for “big” school. Your child will practice these skills while playing in a learning environment. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Please notify us of any allergies as we ask all parents to bring a snack for their child. No classes 2/18, 4/15.

Instructors: Elaine Hawthorne and Gail Small

Section I: Mondays, 1/28 – 3/18, 10:00 – 11:30 AM for 7 sessions

Section II: Mondays, 3/25 – 5/13, 10:00 – 11:30 AM for 7 sessions

Fee: $25 per family per section

 

Elaine Hawthorne retired after 39 years teaching at RSU 14. During her career she taught grades 2-4 and is excited to be back for her second year with Windham Raymond Adult Education to continue her passion of educating children. She looks forward to reading, singing and doing crafts with the Preschool Playgroup.

 

Gail Small retired after teaching 37 years at RSU 14. She taught in grades 2-4 and is excited to be co-teaching preschool with her former team partner, Elaine Hawthorne. She loves preschool activities and now enjoys them with her 2 1/2 year old granddaughter.
