200-Hour Yoga Teacher Certificate Program

An in-depth Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification program for those seeking to teach, or to deepen their journey. The Coaching Yoga, Coaching Life Certification is built around finding your voice first – as an inspired teacher or as an inspired yogi, encouraging you to step outside of the “box”. Tuition includes 200 hours of classroom instruction covering these topics: Techniques, training and practice; teaching methodology; anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy, lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers; practicum, and instructional materials.
A note for students interested in pursuing certification through Yoga Alliance:
In order to qualify for certification through Yoga Alliance, students are responsible for completion of additional coursework relevant to the area of interest in these subject areas: techniques, training and practice, teaching methodologies, yoga self-exploration; and complete Family Crisis Volunteer Program (taught by Family Crisis Services). These components are not covered by tuition charged for this program.
Please note: The teacher of this program is not affiliated with Yoga Alliance; however, the coursework noted in this program and recommended as additional coursework exceeds Yoga Alliance requirements and may be applied as Continuing Education for yoga teachers wishing to register with Yoga Alliance.

32 Hour Maine Registered Guide Training
with Capt. John A. Rogers
The Guide prep program focuses on Licenses: Recreation, Fishing, and Hunting, with emphasis on Map & Compass, Search & Rescue, Catastrophic Events, Canoeing & Canoe Rescue techniques and all related topics in the field. In this 4-day academic setting, students are 100% ready to take one of Maine’s toughest outdoor tests. Once licensed as a Maine Guide one is able to lead others through the woods and waters of Maine as a business. 120 pg. manual provided. Materials Needed for Class: Compass: If you don’t have a compass we suggest: Silva Ranger CL with flip top cover mirror, aiming sites, and increments of 2. Cost is about $49.00. Or the Silva Explorer /Guide (under $20.00). Both may be purchased at Cabela’s. Notebook, highlighter, pen/pencil. Windham Weaponry requests that attendees park between buildings 1 & 2 or in front of building 1. Food and drink are allowed in the facility.

Beginner American Sign Language (ASL)

This course is for individuals interested in learning American Sign Language (ASL). In addition to an introductory discussion about deaf culture, the course will cover basic principles in the use of sign vocabulary and facial grammar in conversational ASL. We will be using the following book, which students should purchase once it has been determined the class will run and bring to the second night of class: Learning American Sign Language, 2nd Edition, by Padden and Humpries. No Class 4/16.

If you've always wanted to write but have no idea where to start, this course will demystify the process for you. You'll get a taste of the writing life, improve your writing skills, and develop new ways to stretch your creative muscles.
This exciting, hands-on course for the creative writing novice is filled with challenging exercises, expert advice, and plenty of direct support and encouragement. As you work your way through the lessons, you'll develop your own short, creative fiction or nonfiction piece. Our emphasis in this course is on developing your skills through practice, so you'll spend more time writing than reading.
You'll master important concepts by completing enjoyable writing exercises and assignments, and you'll discover a variety of strategies and techniques the pros use to develop characters, create a compelling point of view, build interest through dialogue, and add meaning to your stories
Construction Craft Skills Training

CONSTRUCTION CRAFT SKILLS TRAINING
FAST TRACK TO YOUR NEW CAREER IN THE BUILDING TRADES!
This intensive 231 hour, 2 semester course, with hands-on training is designed to give students a solid foundation for any trade industry that she or he chooses to pursue. Modules such as Basic Jobsite Safety, Power Tools, Communication Skills, Introduction to Construction Drawings, and Framing teach real-world marketable skills that are essential in today’s growing construction fields and sought after by employers. Each module exam passed earns the student their NCCER Certification for that level. Students will also receive their Osha 10 card and will be credentialed through WorkReady.
On-the-job training, after the first 141 hours of class time, may be included. Students can start earning and learning in the field, putting their training to practical use within a few months. Are you already in the trades, but want to increase your skills and earning potential? Our convenient evening hours make this training fit your schedule!
Students must have a valid driver’s license, their high school diploma or equivalency, be at least 18 years old, and be eligible to work in the USA. No classes 2/20, 2/22, 4/17, 4/19.

CPR & 1st Aid

The CPR/First Aid class includes: adult, child and infant CPR, AED use, and techniques to assist a choking victim. Basic First Aid includes: bleeding that you can see, and bleeding you cannot see, treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. The course cost includes use of the manikins, DVD, instructor and practical components. Upon successful course completion you will receive a certification from the American Heart Association.
